Inspired by the evocative shots of Korea's sea and mountainous landscapes film Decision to Leave, Hyo translates these visual elements into her work aesthetically and materially. The unique, hand drawn designs play with the eye; first appearing as illustrations of mountains only to reveal themselves as depictions of the sea. The glazed interiors, functional and smooth, contrast against the exteriors which have been left raw to give the sensation of touching rock or sand. This collection reflects the artist’s celebration of her material as well as her devotion to our natural world.
